Dr. Claar is a seasoned technology enthusiast with a lifelong passion for computers, ignited in 1981. From constructing his first computer in 1986 to pursuing higher education in 2002 to expand his expertise, Dr. Claar’s journey has been defined by an unwavering commitment to technological advancement. With a comprehensive background in web design, database systems, networking, and cybersecurity, coupled with a wealth of experience as a university professor for over 13 years, Dr. Claar brings a unique blend of knowledge, experience, and dedication to his role at Laurus College. His fervent dedication to student success is evident through his continuous pursuit of updated knowledge and his active involvement in professional organizations such as Infragard, Association for Information System (AIS), and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), ensuring students receive the most current and relevant education possible.  Dr. Claar holds a Ph.D and M.S. from Utah State University and a B.S. from Central Washington University.
