Jesus Del Rosario
The academic path of Jesus at Laurus was fraught with challenges. Initially joining the institution before the pandemic with high aspirations, he was severely struck by COVID, leading to hospitalization and a necessary hiatus from his studies. Upon his return, his performance was exemplary. He was consistently punctual, actively engaged, and willingly assisted his peers in overcoming their difficulties. Further adversity struck when his mother encountered health problems, necessitating his travel to the Philippines for her care. Despite the distance, he remained committed to his studies, diligently attending classes online and maintaining his workload from across the globe.
Veronica Hernandez
As a teen mom who didn’t graduate high school, Veronica never envisioned herself graduating from Laurus College. Veronica learned the value of perseverance early on from her hardworking immigrant parents in agriculture. Despite becoming pregnant at 17 and juggling multiple jobs, she earned her GED in 2015. The prospect of college seemed remote, especially as she approached her forties after a long academic hiatus. However, in 2022, following a major life transition and the pandemic, she enrolled at Laurus College for a fresh start. With its flexible schedule and supportive financial aid, Laurus College enabled her to balance work, family, and studies. Now a summa cum laude graduate, she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Laurus and emphasizes that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
Lillibeth Naniola
Education was always a priority for Lillibeth’s parents, who dreamed of seeing her pursue a college degree. Sadly, before they could witness this achievement, her parents passed away. This loss left her feeling lost and broken, unsure of what the future held. In the midst of grief and uncertainty, Lilibeth made a courageous decision: to go back to school and fulfill the dream her parents had for her. Today, Lillibeth stands proud, having earned her degree in Medical Coding and Billing. This accomplishment is not just a fulfillment of her parents’ dreams but a testament to her strength. Sharing this moment with her fellow graduates is a milestone that she will cherish forever.

Michael Alexander’s journey to academic success is a testament to resilience and the power of perseverance. Despite facing significant challenges, including frequent relocations, family hardships, and personal setbacks, Michael never lost sight of his goal to pursue education. His journey was far from easy. He faced homelessness and legal troubles, yet he remained steadfast in his commitment to his education. Michael’s story is one of triumph over adversity. His message to others is clear: life’s obstacles can be overcome with determination and a relentless focus on your goals. He demonstrates that no matter the challenges, success is always within reach.
James Holyfield
At 69 years old, James Holyfield’s journey to earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Systems Management is nothing short of remarkable. His path has been filled with challenges, but with his philosophy he has provided the resilience needed to overcome numerous obstacles, from battling serious health issues to navigating various life transitions. James’ journey at Laurus College has not only equipped him with the skills to succeed in business but has also reinforced his belief in the importance of living life fully and with gratitude.
