Although I consider myself to be relatively knowledgeable with most software applications, most of what I know has been self-taught.  As the need for technology continues to excel by leaps and bounds, I have discovered that much of what I learned only a few short years ago is already considered outdated or obsolete.  In order to enhance my occupational marketability and manage my time and productivity more effectively, I opted to enroll in the Professional Business Systems Program at Laurus College.

As it has turned out, my choice to go to school has been the best thing I could have done considering the current economic climate.  My constant exposure to new processes and ideologies has subsequently carried over to my present career field, and broadened my understanding of business applications used in today’s job market.

I credit the following courses with significantly enhancing my learning experience at Laurus College:

MOS 110: Word Processing with Microsoft Word
MOS 140: Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel
MOS 160: Computer Presentations
MOS 200: Databases with Microsoft Access

I have found that both the faculty members and staff are knowledgeable, subject matter experts who are readily available to assist.  The interactive classrooms have increased my ability to think abstractly and critically in order to express thoughts clearly and concisely.  In addition, courses such as Ethics, Marketing, and Business Management have allowed me to explore interests, discover new areas of knowledge, and consider lifelong goals.

Today many jobs require specialized skills, knowledge and practical training.  I feel certain that I will demonstrate to future employers that I possess the skill sets and traits they are looking for, as well as the motivation and drive to succeed anywhere, any time.

Laurus College has provided me with the solid foundation I will need to remain technically proficient, and I believe that getting a Laurus education is an investment that will pay me back for a lifetime.
