Nick Mahoney is versatile and mission-driven leader with over 15 y ears of experience across education, product management, and technology. Most recently served as the Associate Dean and Director of Computer Science at Western Governors University, where he launched the nation’s first competency-based Master’s in Computer Science and secured ABET accreditation for the B.S. in Computer Science program. Nick brings a rich instructional background, having taught at Purdue Global, the Colorado Community College System, and Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Nick’s educational portfolio includes a B.S. in Computer Science, four M.S. degrees (Toxicology, Management, HR Management, and Organizational Leadership), an MBA in IT Management, and dual B.A.s in Chemistry and Biochemistry, with a Juris Doctorate in progress. Nick also received his Professional Teaching Certification after completing the teacher preparatory program at the University of Colorado Boulder. Recognized for building inclusive pathways, managing large-scale educational initiatives, and integrating Al and data-driven decision-making, he thrives at the intersection of innovation, equity, and academic excellence. Certified in AWS, ITIL, Project+, and Linux, I bring both vision and execution to every team I lead.
