Paula Andrea Hernández Coral

I am a sound engineer and classically trained pianist with 12 years of experience in the live entertainment industry. My work has taken me across a broad range of settings — from touring with multiple artists, setting up audio systems for festivals and cruises, to mixing in venues of various sizes. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with an Emphasis in Audio Production from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and a Master’s in Recording Arts and Technologies from Middle Tennessee State University. After years on the road, I’ve shifted my career path and currently work as a studio sound engineer while pursuing a Master’s in Music Theory at the Norges Musikkhøgskole.
My goal is to continue on to a doctorate in Musicology, where I intend to research and bridge the worlds of audio engineering and music education — two areas I’ve often found disconnected in professional practice, but which I believe are deeply intertwined and essential to the future of both fields. I am a strong advocate for quality education as a foundation for cultivating outstanding professionals in our industry.
I am dedicated to sharing my experience and knowledge to better prepare students for real-world scenarios and to deliver exceptional experiences to future clients — whether in a concert hall, a recording studio, a film release, or any other creative setting.
