Jeffrey Staso

Jeffrey Staso started his career as a web designer by editing his America Online profile in the mid-nineties. After working part-time as the webmaster for a local manufacturing company during high school, Jeffrey decided to pursue graphic design and web development as a career. Mr. Staso graduated from California State University Monterey Bay with an undergraduate degree in “Telecommunications, Multimedia, and Applied Computing” and took a job managing the website and other creatives for the Lompoc Healthcare District.
In the late 2000s, Jeffrey and his wife took a position with Missoula Children’s Theatre and spent two years traveling the country and teaching theater and dramatic arts to children. Mr. Staso realized he had a passion for education and took the opportunity to teach at Laurus College.
As an instructor Jeffrey is able to pass on his real-world experience to ignite a passion for design and coding in others. Jeffrey is proud to be a graduate of the California State University Master’s of Instructional Technology program and brings the concepts into his own classroom. He is a proponent of learning by doing and believes that students must take ownership of skills in order to fully understand the concepts.
Mr. Staso is active in local community theater and you might catch him on stage at the Santa Maria Civic Theatre or Orcutt Community Theater.
Teaching at Laurus since 2011
